Steven Stucky Memorial Residency at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY)

For the final concert as the ensemble-in-residence at Cornell University through the Steven Stucky Memorial Residency program, loadbang will be performing works by student composers.


May 15, 2023
TENOR Conference at the Longy School of Music (Cambridge, MA)

loadbang is the featured guest ensemble for the 2023 International Conference on Technologies for Music Notation and Representation (TENOR) and will be performing works selected from an international call for scores. 


June 13, 2023
Pop-Up Concert at Miller Theater (New York, NY)

loadbang will be premiering new works by Sebastian Currier and Pulitzer Prize winner Raven Chacon as well as performing a work for the ensemble by Chaya Czernowin.

Longy's Divergent Studio (Cambridge, MA)

loadbang is the ensemble-in-residence at the Longy School of Music's Divergent Studio, an intensive summer program for student composers and performers of contemporary music. Learn more at longy.edu

In 2020, loadbang started the Collaborative Commissioning Fund to support and commission BIPOC composers with direct funding from the ensemble. After 2 years of fundraising and thanks to so many of you, the commissioning has begun, and the first two composers we’ve been so fortunate to work with are Forbes Graham and Daijana Wallace!

After 14 years and over 450 premieres, loadbang's dear friend and baritone Jeffrey Gavett is moving on to new musical explorations.  Beginning in the 22/23 season, we are thrilled to welcome Tyler Bouque to the loadbang family!

On May 17, 2022 at Opera America, loadbang, partnering with the Iranian Female Composers Association, gave the New York City premieres of works by Bahar Royaee, Nasim Khorassani, Kimia Koochakzadeh, Yasaman Ghodsi, and Golfam Khayam.

As a part of the 2022 Corcoran Music Festival at George Washington University, we performed truly extraordinary music in a truly extraordinary space, the Flagg Building in Washington D.C. You can hear four of the works here.
